Barn Charm - At the Iowa State Fair

This is the Pioneer Livestock Pavilion at the fairgrounds of the Iowa State Fair. It was busy with livestock classes on this second day of the 2012 Fair. While not exactly a "barn" used to house livestock/farming equipment/grains and/or hay, it IS a location specifically for showing livestock.

Here's a view of the inside during a cattle class. (I shared this photo last week, too, for Rural Thursday.)

*NOTE REGARDING LAST WEEK'S HARLEY DAVIDSON "BARN CHARM" ENTRY:
Last week, I shared a photo of a "barn" that was actually a Harley Davidson dealership in the Des Moines, IA area. I'd had some questions about whether it was an old barn that had been restored/repurposed,or if the structure was built especially for the dealership.

Well, I did a little research to make sure I was passing along correct information. It's actually a new structure! It was built especially for the dealership. The dealership - in this current "barn" location - was opened in 2004. Click here for information on the history of this dealership.

"Barn Charm" is hosted by Bluff Area Daily. Please click the button below to view the rest of this week's entries (the link-up with this week's entries will be available Monday evening):

You sure are making me long for a visit to our state fair.

I love it when new businesses replicate something wonderful from the past!

Fairs be they in the U.S. or elsewhere share excellence on so many levels in the world of agriculture.

Fancy barn/pavilion to showcase livestock!

this is a very interest barn. Love the shape.

I missed the post on the Harley dealership and had to go back and check it out. Love that they decided to use a barn shaped building. So much more character then the long metal things most dealership here have. Thanks for giving the history it took me back to see the original post.
