New Year's Day 2012, and Books - Lots of Books!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I was going to write this post yesterday when we got home from Abuelita and Nonno's house. However, certain things took precedence - we arrived home to find a busted hot water heater! Needless to say, I was distracted and completely forgot about writing a New Year's Eve post . . . so now it'll just be a New Year's Day post. (By the way, Andrew is talking to the plumber on call as I type . . . hopefully they'll get the problem fixed.)

See, last year, Lisa at Two Bears Farm summarized her year (that would be 2010 at the time) using the books she'd read in 2010, so I followed suit and did the same (click here to read my post). Well, Lisa did the post again for the books she read in 2011 (read her post here). Of course, I've got to do it again, too!

What you do is answer the following questions using the books you read in 2011. So here's my 2011 summary in books (having chosen from the 64 books I read in 2011):

1.  Describe yourself:  Storyteller by Leslie Marmon Silko
2.  How do you feel?  Winter in the Blood by James Welch
3.  Describe where you currently live.  The Jungle by Clive Cussler
4.  If you could go anywhere, where would you go?  The Turquoise Ledge by Leslie Marmon Silko
5.  Your favorite form of transportation?  Without a Net edited by Michelle Tea
6.  Your best friend is: A Very Young Rider by Jill Krementz
7.  You and your friends are: The Inner Circle by Brad Meltzer
8.  What's the weather like?  The Tempest by William Shakespeare
9.  What is life to you?  The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
10.  Favorite time of day?  Crescent Dawn by Clive Cussler
11.  Your Fear?  The Sinister Pig by Tony Hillerman
12.  What is the best advice you have to give? Don't Blink by James Patterson
13.  Thought for the day?  Six Kinds of Sky by Luis Alberto Urrea
14.  How I would like to die: In the Places of the Spirits by David Noble
15.  My soul's present condition:  Mexican Made Easy by Marcela Valladolid

Who knows, maybe this may become my new traditional New Year's Day post.

Next year, one (or all) of these books may be on the list!

Excellent! I love the last answer! If you go look at mine, you can find a link to Happily Ever After - she has a link up on her page where you can link up and visit other folks who have done the same thing! A fun way to meet other big readers :-)

Didn't Shelfari make it so much easier to remember what you've read? :-)

This is so cool. There must be two books called The Jungle. I am sure the one I read is not what you are referring to. Good for you to do so much reading!

Good for you Sonya -- with all you have going on, it's amazing you have time to read too! I need to get on that this year. :)

Hi Sonya!
It's so nice to 'meet' you!
[Thank you, Lisa, for encouraging the connection.. ;)]

Your answers to this meme are just wonderful. From what little I've just learned about you from your profile, it sure seems as though some of those answers are PERFECT for you. How cool is that? And all from just 64 book titles. I don't know about you, but I find that really neat. : )

Thanks so much for linking up on my blog. This was my third year doing this meme, but my first year
doing the link up. I'm so glad I did--it's been so much fun!

Happy New Year!
